The RCC Athletic Training Student Program
Now in its fifteenth year, the program has grown from a club of three students to a co-curricular organization of twenty to thirty. Our purpose is to educate the athletic training students in the field of Athletic Training and expose them to all of the sports and athletic situations at RCC. Additionally, we are able to facilitate the process of transferring interested students into accredited
Athletic Training Programs. Currently we have 15 former students who have graduated from accredited Athletic Training programs at a university and nine former students currently working through Athletic Training programs. One former student is pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy and two attending Graduate programs in Athletic Training as of fall of 2008. This Spring, six students will transfer to four year colleges or Universities.
The primary goals of the program are:
- Provide needed health care to the athletes at Riverside Community College
- Expose the student athletic trainers to the field of athletic training then guide, motivate and facilitate the process of transferring to athletic training programs at accredited colleges and universities.
